The Aims of the Strategy for Screen Heritage
The Strategy identified four key initiatives which we believe will significantly improve both the care of our moving image collections and the public’s ability to access its screen heritage. These initiatives are:
- To ensure that the BFI National Archive, which is currently under real threat of deterioration, is safeguarded for future generations;
- To create a joined up strategic approach to stabilising regional collections, safeguarding them for future generations and developing far greater use of these collections for audiences across England;
- To increase access to information and moving images through digital and online technologies and
- To promote educational use of moving image material.
